These workshops cover current trends in high-end computing technologies like cloud computing, robotics, game design, web development, 3D imaging, server infrastructure and clustering.
"This is our first programme of the state-wide plan wherein we will cover 10 universities in Gujarat, including MS University. We are also looking to promote collaboration between universities and Microsoft through two major programmes - MSDN Academic Alliance and Live@Edu," said Prakhar Agarwal, MSP programme head in Gujarat.
"Through the workshop, our students get access to software that are not released in the market. They also get to see demonstration of software which gives them hands-on experience on using them for academic purpose," said head of Bachelor in Computer Application programme at NU, Prof Rana Mukhopadhyay.
"This year, our focus is Gujarat so we want to concentrate on meeting and interacting with students from the state. MSDN Academic Alliance gives students access to latest software at low cost which ensures they don't use pirated versions. The other aim of the programme is to provide social infrastructure," added Agarwal.
