India Post launched the Genie Ease-Ticket service in Gujarat circle wherein 232 post offices, out of 9,056, began distributing tour package and travel ticketing services from a one-stop-shop for all three modes of transport.
The facility was launched on Saturday.
India Post, having a network of 1.5 lakh post offices with staff strength of six lakh, has offered the facility at 371 post offices in Tamil Nadu, 327 in Karnataka and 177 in Kerala, enabling customers to walk into select post offices and book tickets for travel by air, train or bus; make hotel room reservations; or hire rented cars.
India Post launched this service in association with ARM Solutions Pvt Ltd. Tickets of all airlines (domestic and international) and bus and train tickets, besides hotel room booking service, have been made available, said Ms Karuna Pillai, Chief Postmaster General, Gujarat Circle
