Out of the total 34 conventional power projects with a cumulative capacity to the tune of 37,110 MW announced during the Vibrant Summit in 2007, three plants have fully been commissioned. These three projects have installed capacity of 1,486 MW.
"As many as nine projects with 9,800 MW installed capacity are in the process of being commissioned and they are likely to be operational within two years", Saurabh Patel, minister of state for energy and petrochemicals, government of Gujarat, said while addressing a high power committee meeting today.
The current installed capacity of Gujarat is around 11000 MW.
